4/17/13 15 - 20 Questions
Based on feedback received we will be asking 15 questions in the Preliminary Round. Once we get to the head
to head matchups we will be using 20 questions.
4/9/13 CBC Welcome Video
I've added a link on the front page to a short "Welcome Video to the CBC Contest". You can also see
the video by clicking here.
4/6/13 Source Code
The CBC never has and never will ask a botmaster to reveal his source code. I challenge any
person running a contest to have that as a requirement and see how many people would actually
enter.
4/1/13 Scoring
The top 7 highest scores will automatically advance to the finals. They will be seeded according
to their scores. We will then set a cutoff point based on all the scores. Those bots below the
cutoff will be eliminated. The remaining bots will compete for the 8th spot in the finals in a
Wildcard Round. The 2 highest scores in the Wildcard Round will face each other in a head to head
matchup with the winner advancing to the finals.
The finals will consist of head to head matchups based on their scores in the Preliminary round.
See Playoff Bracket above.
1st seed vs 8th seed
2nd seed vs 7th seed
3rd seed vs 6th seed
4th seed vs 5th seed
The scoring here will change. 3 judges will decide which bot gave the better answer as follows:
0 points if neither answer was considered correct.
1 point each if both answers were considered equally good.
1 point if at least 2 of the 3 judges decide one answer was better than the other.
Meaning one bot will receive 1 point while the other 0 points.
Preliminary Round and Finals
The contest will consist of the preliminary round and then a series of head to head matchups until we
reach the winner. The preliminary round will decide which bots move on to the finals. The scores from
the preliminary round will not carry over to the finals but will be used to seed the bots.

Then later in the conversation:
Where do I live?
